Alpha and Omega Ministries

Alpha and Omega Ministries is a multi service ministry designed to meet needs in the community in the name of Jesus. Our desire is to demonstrate the love of Jesus in a number of ways that can be seen and felt in order to make a difference for good in our neighborhood. Our services include:

Evening Meal

An evening meal is served Monday through Friday at 5 P.M. These meals consist of a variety of items, as the Lord provides. The purpose is to provide a balanced nourishing meal for those who would otherwise do without. Children are welcome but they must be accompa- nied by a parent or guardian. We ask for your name and general age group. We need this information for the various groups that provide food and funding.

Food Baskets

We provide emergency food baskets to needy people who come to us with a re- ferral from a pastor or agency. To apply for a food basket you will need a refer- ral, a picture I.D. and a social security number. You will need to fill out a food basket request form. Please be honest with the information. Abusers may be refused service. Food basket requests are serviced Tuesday and Thursday from 9:00 A.M. to noon.

Personal Care Items

Personal care items are available from time to time - If you need any type of
item, please ask the server. Please do not send children to make requests.

Bible Study

There is a Bible study each week-day evening at 6:00 P.M. that meets at the church building at 821 Rose St. The public is encouraged to attend. Some of our residents are in the process of developing a seekers bible study group meeting on Sunday evening.

Residency

There are a limited number of opportunities for residency here at the ministry. We are well aware that because of our size and staffing that we can’t provide a place for everyone that has a need or a desire. We have only men’s houses at this time. To apply one needs to have been clean from drugs and alcohol for at least 30 days and have a sincere desire to stay that way, to be serious about his recovery, and willing to at least be exposed to Christ centered teaching and submit to a list of rules that we have found to be necessary for the program to work. He needs to fill out an intake application and be interviewed by the Alpha & Omega council whose decision is final.

Playground

A playground is available to the children of the neighborhood from dawn to dusk. Our goal is to provide a safe pleasant place for children to play. In order to maintain this setting, children who climb on the fences and trees, who use foul language or engage in fighting will be asked
to leave. Some children are asked to not come back for a period of time if their behavior warrants it.

Clothing and household goods

From time to time clothing and furniture items are donated. These are available on a first come/first served basis

You Can Help!

Maybe you don’t personally need the service ministries of Alpha and Omega. Maybe God has blessed you and you’d like to help. Alpha and Omega Ministries receives no government help and is supported solely by God’s generous people. Your gifts of moneys, time materials, clothing, etc. are tax deductible. During the holiday seasons of Thanksgiving and Christmas, we welcome whatever contributions you would like to share as we put together holiday food baskets for needy families and gifts of personal items for our dinner guests and neighborhood children. We also covet your prayers on our behalf. May God richly bless you. (II Cor. 9:6-8)
